I was recently invited to a Cardiff blogger event at the Kiehl's store. Here are my thoughts on Midnight Recovery Concentrate and other Kiehls products.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a blogger event at the Kiehl’s store in Cardiff. As somewhat of a skincare nerd, I was extremely excited. I’d heard so much about Kiehl’s but had never tried them out. I also don’t get out much. I used to spend half my life in Cardiff city centre, then I moved to the suburbs of Whitchurch and now Victoria Park.  When I do wander into town, I’m always flabbergasted at how much everything is changing. Shops I didn’t even know existed, old shops I’m familiar with closed down and a shit tonne of cafes, bars, and restaurants.Read More →

My thoughts on Oktoberfest 2017 at Pati Pavilion in Swansea, Wales - Click through for more photos of beer and bratwurst

I bagged us a couple of tickets to the Patti Pavilion in Swansea for Oktoberfest 2017, which was held on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th of September. We went along on the Friday as I met Phil from work in Swansea. I’m not a big drinker, but I do enjoy a tipple here and there. I’m more of a gin and red wine girl, and many who’ve had the pleasure of my company after a glass of Rioja or a couple of G&T’s know I can’t handle my drink very well. I guess you could say I was most excited for some good food andRead More →

I spend a lot of time in Marks and Spencer, mainly because as a carer for my Mum its close to her house and a familiar setting for her. After our Monday morning coffee, we always have a wander through the clothes, shoes and bag departments. I was getting pretty bored of seeing the same old stuff left over from Summer, so when the new season collections began to arrive, it was a welcomed change. I spotted a display of red items, which if you read my recent post about how red is the colour of the season, you’ll know how much I’ve been cravingRead More →

As a, somewhat, ignorant Cardiffian, I don’t tend to explore other cities in Wales too much. I prefer small towns, villages and the countryside if I’m venturing within Wales. However, since my husband began working for Cranes Musical Instruments as their social media and internet nerd, I’ve become far more acquainted with the south coast city of Swansea. I played a gig in Mozarts a few months back. It was a lovely little crowd, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was one of those gigs whereby everyone listened and appreciated the music, and if you’re in a band you’ll know how rare that is these days. So, when IRead More →

Instead of being embarrassed about my prematurely grey hair, I'm confessing to the world that I've got them and they're annoying, but that's life. Click through to find out more, including some products to try.

I began to notice a pesky grey hair or two around five years back. At first, I thought I was seeing things. I was in my twenties, how could I possibly be going grey? When I took a closer look, the truth revealed itself to me. I was going grey. Shit. It started out as a couple of stray hairs around the classic edges of the face. I was so embarrassed, it was like a dirty little secret. As usual, we’re not told in glamorous magazines and on beautifully curated Instagram feeds the truth about, well, anything. All that we’re fed is an ‘ideal’ andRead More →

I’ve been sat here for a good hour trying to write a blog. I’ve thought of four different topics, stared at the screen for minutes on end and ate way too many mini poppadoms without even thinking about it through sheer frustration. When my heads going a million miles a minute, writing something constructive which requires brain power and a solid plan is almost impossible. Netflix Thriller ‘Gypsy’ starring Naomi Watts I finally settled on writing a review of the Netflix TV show, ‘Gypsy’ starring Naomi Watts. I searched for it on Google so I could pull up some facts and noticed it has alreadyRead More →

I was lucky enough to snag a couple of tickets to TramShred, Tramshed Cardiff. A workout class which combines music with fitness and a glass of bubbly after

90’s RnB Nostalgia When I saw the words ’90’s RnB’ and ‘workout’ in the same sentence, I was pretty much already on my way to Tramshed two weeks early. You see, I have a nostalgic attachment to the great tunes of the 90’s coming out of the states at the time. R Kelly, Mary J Blige, Blackstreet and Babyface were just a few icons busting out slow jamz and upbeat club bangers. I grew up with two sisters, one I shared a room with. There’s a five year age gap, so while she dolled herself up on a Friday night, I would usually be foundRead More →

As I stood at my Mum’s kitchen window frantically applying my makeup, it suddenly dawned on me that I’d left my black liquid eyeliner at home. This was an actual catastrophe. Massive. Huge. I was just about to head off to a singing job and I couldn’t possibly do it without my cat eye. My hands jumped into my make up bag as I hunted around for my little pot of Kiko Lasting Gel Eyeliner which I have come to love. It wasn’t there, and neither was my tiny but precise Real Techniques detail brush. In my mad panic to get out of the house onRead More →
